Event Information

Title: UC Dairy Series, Session 4: Water-wise dairying

Description:

Milk production in California depends on access to locally produced feed. Growing dairy feed is increasingly difficult because of drought and restrictions on irrigation water use. Nick Clark, Mark Lundy, and Khaled Bali will present useful information on how dairy feed farmers can stretch their water and still produce enough feed. Presentations will cover alternative feeds, responding to water shortage in small grains, and how to best manage alfalfa fields in times of water abundance and drought.
